The National Center for Seismology reports that two earthquakes were detected in Arunachal Pradesh early on Thursday.
At 01:49 in the morning, the first earthquake with a magnitude of 3.7 took place. The epicentre was 10 kilometers deep and was at latitude 27.38 and longitude 92.77. West Kameng, Arunachal Pradesh, was the epicenter of the earthquake.
Earthquakes reported in Arunachal Pradesh and Maharashtra
A second earthquake was recorded at 03:40 am, less than two hours later. The epicenter of this 3.4-magnitude earthquake was near East Kameng, Arunachal Pradesh. The epicentre was five kilometers deep and was at latitude 27.46 and longitude 92.82.
“Earthquake of Magnitude:3.4, Occurred on 21-03-2024, 03:40:12 IST, Lat: 27.46 & Long: 92.82, Depth: 5 Km, Location: East Kameng, Arunachal Pradesh, India,” National Center for Seismology said.
Meanwhile, in a separate incident, an earthquake of magnitude 4.5 on the Richter Scale hit Maharashtra’s Hingoli on Thursday morning.
“Earthquake of magnitude: 4.5, occurred on 21-03-2024, 06:08:30 IST, Lat: 19.48 & Long: 77.30, Depth: 10 km, Location: Hingoli, Maharashtra, India,” the National Center for Seismology wrote on X.
Thankfully, no immediate reports of damage or casualties were reported.
