YouTube Honors MrBeast with Custom Award
Jimmy Donaldson, famously known as MrBeast, just shattered another YouTube record and the platform is scrambling to keep up. The 26-year-old content titan has officially become the first individual creator to surpass 400 million subscribers, prompting YouTube to roll out something it’s never done before: a brand-new, custom award created just for him.

To mark the milestone, YouTube CEO Neal Mohan handed Donaldson a specially designed 400 million Subscriber Play Button. Unlike the familiar Gold, Diamond, or Ruby Play Buttons, this one sports a metallic frame with a vivid blue gemstone centrepiece, symbolizing the uniqueness of MrBeast’s achievement. Mohan posted, “You’re growing so fast we made a new award just for you!”

Donaldson shared a photo of the trophy on Instagram, proudly captioning it: “400,000,000 Subscriber Play Button! Thank you, YouTube.”

But while the number is jaw-dropping, the award itself sparked debate. Some fans admired its sleek design, while others weren’t so kind. One Redditor griped, “It’s just a 10 million button with a blue center,” and another snarked that it looked “AI-generated.” A few more generous fans speculated that the centrepiece might be lapis lazuli or azurite, but the internet’s final verdict? A lukewarm shrug.

Despite the mixed design reviews, no one’s questioning MrBeast’s grind. In a moving post, he recalled his early days:
“A decade ago, everyone told me I was too obsessed and that I’d never make it. I literally told my mom I’d rather be homeless than do anything else. The greatest gift in life is being able to wake up every day with a purpose and thanks to YouTube and you guys, I have that.”

And that purpose has turned into an empire. As of May 2025, Celebrity Net Worth pegs Donaldson’s fortune at $1 billion, officially crowning him the youngest self-made billionaire under 30. His company, Beast Industries, raked in $473 million in 2024, with 2025 projections aiming to double that. From burgers and snacks to tech investments and massive charity initiatives, MrBeast is now more than just a YouTuber, he’s a global brand.
Love it or hate it, one thing’s clear: MrBeast is playing in a league of his own.
