According to media reports, the tallest and shortest individuals on earth got back together and shared breakfast in California after a six-year separation. The height gap between Jyoti Amge of India and Sultan Kosen of Turkey is more than six feet. Their last encounter took place in 2018 at an Egyptian photo shoot. The Egyptian Tourism Promotion Board extended an invitation to the two to assist in promoting tourism in Egypt.
A number of photos from their most recent encounter that show off their differences in height and contrast while they pose together have gone viral on social media.
Kosen is tall enough, according to Guinness World Records, to be able to reach a basketball hoop without having to leap. In 2009 he surpassed China’s Xi Shun, who was seven feet nine inches tall, to become the tallest living person in the world. In addition, he owns the record for having the biggest hand of a live individual. The length of his hand, measured from wrist to middle finger tip, is 11.2 inches. Pituitary gigantism is the disorder that causes Kosen’s height.
Due to his medical condition, he was unable to attend school and was informed that his height prevented him from playing basketball. Later, in order to manage livelihood for his family, he accepted that he would have to live as a farmer. That all changed, though, in 2009 when he received formal recognition as the world’s tallest man. In an old interview, he claimed, “I was born after that day.”
Over the course of the next ten years, Sultan’s life improved. Most importantly, he was given free surgery to stop growing indefinitely, which saved his life. A tumor in his pituitary gland caused damage, which resulted in an overproduction of growth hormone. Remarkably, he didn’t experience this massive growth surge until he was ten years old.
The record holder is currently a cultural ambassador for Türkiye and has traveled to 127 countries. Prior to leaving for the United States, he appeared in a cookery program on Romanian television.
Amghe, meanwhile, was born on December 6, 1993, and is barely 62.8 centimeters tall. Amge is from Nagpur in Maharashtra, and after receiving her world record, she has visited other nations.
She has achondroplasia, a type of dwarfism, which accounts for her height. She is not as tall as a typical two-year-old. In 2012, she appeared as a guest on the reality TV program Big Boss. As per Amge’s official website, she took part in the fourth season of ‘American Horror Story: Freak Show’ in August of 2014.
