A New High for Mohit Suri?
If projections hold, Saiyaara might just become Suri’s biggest opening in years. To put things in perspective:
- Ek Villain Returns (2022), with John Abraham and Arjun Kapoor, opened at Rs 7.05 crore.
- Malang (2020), despite star power from Aditya Roy Kapur and Disha Patani, launched at Rs 6.71 crore.
- His last double-digit opener was Half Girlfriend (2017), which brought in Rs 10.3 crore on day one.
Outshining Past Hits
Saiyaara‘s advance sales already rival the opening-day figures of some of Suri’s earlier acclaimed films. It’s just shy of Hamari Adhuri Kahani (2015), which earned Rs 4.95 crore on day one. Even the much-loved Aashiqui 2 (2013), a film in the same genre that had the benefit of franchise recognition opened with Rs 6.1 crore, and that was with slightly better-known leads.
Saiyaara Roars Ahead
All eyes are now on whether Saiyaara can convert its early momentum into box office gold. If it does, it won’t just mark a dream debut for Ahaan Panday, it could also signal the rise of a new romantic era in Bollywood, powered by fresh talent and nostalgic storytelling.
