Tehsildars in Punjab have gone on strike to protest against action taken by the Vigilance Bureau. They have decided not to work until Friday (March 7). Amidst this situation, Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann has taken a strong stance, expressing displeasure over their mass leave and issuing a warning.

CM Bhagwant Mann said, “Tehsildars are striking in support of their corrupt colleagues, but our government has a strict stance against bribery. To prevent inconvenience to the public, other officials at the tehsil level have been assigned all responsibilities to ensure that public services are not disrupted. Best wishes to the Tehsildars for their collective leave, but they will have to wait to find out when and where they will rejoin after their leave.”

Earlier, on Tuesday (March 4), CM Bhagwant Mann visited several tehsils, including Zirakpur and Kharar. During his visit, he stated that Tehsildars cannot blackmail the government in this manner.
The Chief Minister further mentioned that the government was in continuous talks with the Tehsildars, but they insisted they would not resume work until their colleagues received a clean chit. He emphasized that the government has a zero-tolerance policy against corruption.

Meanwhile, the Bhagwant Mann government has ordered the Tehsildars to return to duty by 5 PM. Those who fail to do so will be considered suspended.
