Food Delivery App Roasts Ranveer
A food delivery app has jumped into the ongoing controversy surrounding YouTuber Ranveer Allahbadia and comedian Samay Raina—delivering a sharp-tongued dig along with its usual orders.
Magicpin, which brands itself as “India’s third-largest food delivery platform,” put up a cheeky roadside ad that read: “India’s Lost Talent. Comedy ki limit honi chahiye par discounts ki nahi” (There should be a limit to comedy, but not to discounts). The ad featured cartoonish figures resembling panellists from India’s Got Latent, a show that has landed in hot water for controversial remarks.

Sharing the ad on social media platform X, Magicpin captioned the image: “Can we get back the magic in comedy?” The post quickly went viral, with users praising the marketing move. “Comedians need this type of humour!” wrote one user. Another called it “epic.”
The Controversy That Started It All
The uproar began after Ranveer Allahbadia, widely known as BeerBiceps, made controversial comments on India’s Got Latent, a show hosted by Samay Raina. The remarks sparked massive backlash, forcing Allahbadia to issue an apology. However, the damage was already done—multiple complaints have been filed against him, Raina, and social media influencer Apoorva Mukhija.

The Maharashtra Cyber Cell has now registered a case against India’s Got Latent, implicating nearly 30 to 40 individuals. Mumbai Police have even visited Allahbadia’s residence as part of their probe.

Legal Trouble Piles Up
The controversy has snowballed into a full-blown legal battle. The National Commission for Women (NCW) has summoned Allahbadia and Raina over alleged derogatory remarks, setting a hearing for February 17. Meanwhile, a Parliamentary IT panel is weighing the possibility of summoning the YouTuber for questioning.

Adding to the heat, Assam police have also filed a case, with Guwahati Joint Commissioner of Police Ankur Jain confirming that they are coordinating with Mumbai Police. Legal notices and summons will follow.
Political and Public Outrage
The issue has even reached Parliament. Shiv Sena (UBT) MP Priyanka Chaturvedi has vowed to raise the matter, slamming Allahbadia’s remarks as “abusive language in the name of comedy.” Maharashtra CM Devendra Fadnavis has also taken a strong stance, stating that “anyone who crosses the limits of decency will face action.”

With multiple Mumbai-based lawyers filing formal complaints, the storm is far from over.
To contain the backlash, the India’s Got Latent episode featuring the offensive comments has been deleted from YouTube. But as the controversy rages on, it seems neither apologies nor deletions will make it disappear anytime soon.
