According to authorities, an executive engineer connected to the Tribal Welfare Engineering department in Telangana was apprehended on Monday after being exposed as taking bribe of Rs. 84,000.
The arrest came about as a result of a complaint, according to the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB), from someone who said that K Jaga Jyothi had accepted a bribe in return for an official favor. In a quick operation, the ACB apprehended the official as she was accepting the designated sum.
On social media, a video of K Jaga Jyothi weeping after being spotted has gone viral.
When K Jaga Jyothi took the phenolphthalein test, the results showed that her right-hand fingers were positive. Phenolphthalein is a chemical substance that, when broken down, turns pink, which makes it a useful tool for identifying bribe takers. Traces of the solution adhere to hands handling marked banknotes or documents, and the pink coloration occurs when the hands come into touch with a mild base.
