A Warrior’s Return to TV
Ronit’s return to television comes after a considerable hiatus. Shedding light on why he stayed away, Ronit explained, “I’ve been busy with films and OTT, and nothing interesting came my way. This role felt right as the producer is a friend, and I had a great run with Sony during Adaalat.”
Taking on the role of King Someshwar in the historical drama demanded some physical transformation. “It wasn’t mentally taxing, but physically, yes. I had to train to look like a warrior and handle a heavy sword,” he shared.

What stood out most in his recollection was his equation with co-star Smriti Irani. “Smriti is one of my most favorite colleagues and she’s like my little sister. Our relationship was and still is incredibly warm,” he said fondly.

On the Changing Face of Television
Ronit also shared his thoughts on the evolution of TV content, pointing out that the medium has been on a decline due to shifting viewer preferences. “People now prefer content on-the-go and that’s why TV is no longer the primary screen. But there’s hope. We might soon see more finite, story-driven series with defined arcs, which will benefit both viewers and actors,” he said.
