Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath visited Hathras and met with the injured. When asked why the preacher was not named in the FIR, he explained that the case was initially filed against those who applied for the event’s permission and that all responsible parties would be investigated. The state government has also set up a three-member judicial commission, headed by a retired high court judge, to investigate the tragedy and examine if there was any conspiracy behind the stampede.
