Mohammed Siraj has been one of India’s most reliable players for a few years now, and in the fourth Test match against England, he is demonstrating his strength once more with excellent bowling in Jasprit Bumrah’s absence.
After smashing the England wicketkeeper, he ended a 113-run partnership between Foakes and Root. Now, he’s produced a gem to dismiss Tom Hartley.
In the 76th over of the match, Siraj angled a good-length delivery around the wicket towards the left-hander. But after pitching, the ball straightens out and knocks over the off post, leaving Tom Hartley speechless.
England chose to bat first after winning the toss earlier. But to put England on the back foot, rookie Akash Deep caused chaos in the opening session by taking three early wickets.
In the first session, they lost five wickets, but in the second, India went down without taking a wicket due to a strong stand from Foakes and Root.
However, they recovered well in the third session, and with Root leading the way and only tailenders providing support, England is once again in the losing end.
