Vibhakar Shastri, grandson of former Prime Minister Lal Bahadur Shastri, has resigned from the Congress party. He shared this information through a tweet on social media platform X. Along with this, Vibhakar also confirmed that he has joined BJP today itself.
Vibhakar tweeted, “Honorable Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge ji, I have resigned from the primary membership of the Indian National Congress”. Vibhakar joined BJP in the presence of Uttar Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Brajesh Pathak. During his joining process, many big leaders of BJP were also present there. Vibhakar has resigned from Congress at a time when Lok Sabha elections are going to be held in a few months.
Sharing more details on the matter, Vibhakar Shastri said, “I feel that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, I will be able to serve the country by further strengthening Lal Bahadur Shastri’s vision of ‘Jai Jawan, Jai Kisan’”.
He further added, “I want to express my gratitude to PM Narendra Modi, JP Nadda, Home Minister Amit Shah, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and Brajesh Pathak for opening the doors of BJP for me”.
Moments after joining BJP, Vibhakar was heard criticizing Congress and saying that India Alliance has no ideology, their aim is only to remove the PM. Rahul Gandhi should tell what is the ideology of Congress?
The process of leaders leaving the party has started at a time when Lok Sabha elections are going to be held in the country within a few months. On Monday itself, veteran Maharashtra Congress leader and former Chief Minister Ashok Chavan resigned from the Congress Party and joined BJP.
