In a tragic incident, a 32-year-old woman died by suicide after jumping from the roof of a six-storey building in Noida’s Sector-73, East Avenue Society. The woman, who was reportedly battling depression and undergoing treatment, took the extreme step on Friday morning around 9 a.m.

A shocking video of the incident has surfaced online, showing the woman sitting on the parapet wall of the building before jumping off, despite efforts by nearby residents to dissuade her. Witnesses at the scene shouted and tried to convince her to step back, but she jumped before anyone could intervene.

The woman, identified as Pooja, was a homemaker and a resident of Sarfabad village. She lived with her husband, a software engineer working for a private company, in the society. The couple had been married for about two and a half years. At the time of the incident, no one else was present in their home.
According to police, Pooja went to the roof of the building, climbed over the parapet wall, and jumped. The reason behind her distress remains unclear. In the viral video, a man is heard shouting for another individual, named Dev, to intervene, but Pooja jumped within seconds.

Police from Sector-113 police station arrived at the scene after being informed and have since launched an investigation. Conversations with family members are ongoing to ascertain the cause of her distress.
Pooja’s body has been sent for post-mortem, and police are gathering all relevant facts as part of the investigation. Legal formalities are being completed, and further inquiries are underway.
