Filmmaker Sandeep Reddy Vanga, known for Arjun Reddy and Animal, can’t stop raving about Rishab Shetty’s latest cinematic offering Kantara Chapter 1. Taking to X (formerly Twitter) on Friday, Vanga called the film “a true masterpiece,” declaring that “Indian cinema has never seen anything like this.”

In his glowing review, he described the film as “a cinematic thunderstorm-raw, divine, and unshakable” while hailing Rishab Shetty’s one-man show as both writer, director, and lead actor. Vanga also gave a special shout-out to music composer Ajaneesh Loknath for his powerful background score.

Responding to the high praise, Rishab Shetty kept it humble. “Thank you, brother ❤️,” he wrote on X. Later, in a heartfelt post, Rishab reflected on his journey from struggling to secure a single evening show back in 2016 to delivering 5,000 houseful shows in 2025. “This journey is nothing but your love, support, and God’s grace,” he wrote.

Alongside celebrating the blockbuster opening, Rishab also urged fans to protect the film from piracy. “#KantaraChapter1 is as much yours as ours. Please don’t record or share videos from theatres. Let’s preserve the magic of Kantara the way it’s meant to be experienced on the big screen,” he appealed.

Released on Thursday across multiple languages including Kannada, Hindi, Telugu, Malayalam, Tamil, Bengali, and English, Kantara Chapter 1 opened to a thunderous response at the box office, raking in ₹60 crore nett on day one in India alone, according to Sacnilk.com.
