Lasya Nandita, a Telangana MLA, passed away today in Hyderabad after her SUV struck a road divider. Unfortunately, this was her second encounter with an accident within 10 days.
The 37-year-old leader had escaped an accident in Narkatpally just ten days earlier. A drunk motorist struck her car while she was traveling to a rally where Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy was scheduled to speak. She only suffered minor injuries in the collision, but her home guard lost his life.
Her driver lost control of her Maruti XL6 and sent it crashing into the metal divider on Hyderabad’s Outer Ring Road, resulting in today’s tragic disaster. While her driver is critically injured and receiving treatment at a private hospital, Lasya Nandita passed away instantly.
Doctor declared her dead soon after she was shifted to the hospital.
The incident occurred at 5:30 am today. At present, the authorities are investigating both the accidents.
Lasya Nandita, who was born in Hyderabad in 1986, entered politics almost ten years ago. Prior to winning an assembly seat from Secunderabad Cantonment in 2023, she worked as a corporator in the Kavadiguda ward.
