Indian Army Strikes Back
In a bold and swift retaliation, the Indian Army launched precision strikes on multiple terrorist launchpads situated just across the Line of Control (LoC) in Jammu and Kashmir. The pre-emptive operation, carried out on Friday, followed a surge in provocative drone and missile attacks from Pakistan, triggering a decisive response from India’s armed forces.

Video footage released by the Army showcased the destruction of the launchpads, sites that had been under watch for months due to their active role in facilitating terrorist infiltration and orchestrating attacks on Indian soil.

“This operation has significantly crippled the infrastructure that supports terrorism in the region,” the Army declared, emphasizing that the action was both necessary and proportionate.

The military strikes came in the wake of a coordinated offensive by Pakistan, which launched a barrage of drones specifically Turkish-made Byker YIHA III kamikaze drones targeting civilian areas in Punjab and Jammu and Kashmir. These unmanned systems, carrying high-explosive payloads, aimed to cause maximum civilian harm, including in the densely populated city of Amritsar.

However, India’s air defense network was on high alert. The Integrated Air Defence (AAD) grid sprang into action, neutralizing the hostile drones within moments of them breaching Indian airspace.

In a high-stakes briefing in New Delhi, Colonel Sofiya Qureshi, Wing Commander Vyomika Singh, and Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri painted a clear picture of Pakistan’s aggressive intent. Colonel Qureshi revealed that a high-speed missile was fired at an Indian air base in Punjab at approximately 1:40 AM on May 9. Simultaneously, Pakistani fighter jets and loitering munitions carried out strikes on Indian military installations in Srinagar, Avantipura, and Udhampur.

In total, 26 sites across northern India came under attack from Pakistani drones, missiles, and airstrikes in the early hours of Saturday. India has firmly rejected Islamabad’s claims of causing substantial damage, asserting that the attacks were largely thwarted with minimal impact on Indian military capabilities.
