After establishing a 2-1 lead over England in the first three Tests of the five-match series, Team India is expected to rest vice-captain and attack bowler Jasprit Bumrah. Following his lengthy 11-month absence due to a back injury in August of last year, Jasprit Bumrah has been under close supervision from the Indian cricket squad. Jasprit Bumrah has only been selected for India’s Test matches since the World Cup 2023, whether it was for the December–January series against South Africa or the current England assignment.
In order to manage his workload in light of the upcoming IPL and T20 World Cup, Bumrah, who was supposed to be rested for the Rajkot Test, will now take a break for the Ranchi game next week. Bumrah will take almost twenty days off for the rest of the season before returning for the Dharamsala series finale, which begins on March 7.
Jasprit Bumrah has bowled 8.3, 16.1, 15.5, 17.2, 15, and 8 in six innings in the series, for a total of more than 80 overs in the previous three weeks.
Jasprit Bumrah Set To Miss Fourth Test In Ranchi
If the track is a rank turner, Bumrah is probably going to be replaced by Mukesh Kumar or a fourth spinner. In the Ranji Trophy encounter, Mukesh who was cut from the team for the third Test captured ten wickets for Bengal against Bihar, including a four-wicket haul in the opening innings and a six-wicket haul in the second.
Mohammed Siraj, who has been playing frequently for India in recent months, was also rested for the second Test.
