Dennis Woodside appointed as Freshworks CEO
Freshworks has elevated its company president Dennis Woodside as the new CEO. With this latest development now the founder of Freshworks Girish Mathrubootham stepped down from the position of CEO after 14 years. Mathrubootham will now be seen playing the role of executive chairman.

“As I hand off the reins to Dennis and take up my new role as Executive Chairman, I’m excited to keep serving Freshworks, concentrate on our long-term product vision and AI, spend more time with our staff in India, and support Dennis as a trusted advisor. We still have the same goal in mind, and we have a promising future. The possibilities on the horizon are endless, and I’m eager to follow Dennis’ leadership to see where it leads,” Mathrubootham shared his opinion regarding the latest step taken.

Woodside had joined Freshworks in September 2022. Earlier he served as Dropbox CEO (between August 2014 and September 2018) and Motorola CEO (May 2012 – April 2014).

“I had hoped that Dennis would eventually succeed me when I brought him on board at Freshworks, and that we would collaborate to ensure a seamless and deliberate transition that prioritizes the interests of both our clients and staff,” Mathrubootham was heard saying about Dennis.

Founded in Chennai in 2010, Freshworks (formerly known as Freshdesk) eventually relocated to the US. After a billion-dollar initial public offering (IPO), the company listed on the Nasdaq stock exchange in 2021. In his statement, Mathrubootham revealed that the firm employs near about 5,000 people and provides services to over 67,000 clients globally.

In the first quarter of 2024, Freshworks reported consolidated revenue of $165.5 million and non-GAAP operating profit of $21.8 million.
